Measuring and communicating social impact has become a critical requirement for organisations aiming to inform strategic decisions, engage stakeholders and maintain transparency. However, many struggle with capturing meaningful data, balancing funder requirements with community-centred approaches and addressing complex, intangible outcomes like identity, values, and spiritual beliefs.
For Indigenous communities, these challenges are amplified by the need for culturally respectful practices and recognition of Indigenous data sovereignty—ensuring their rights over the collection, ownership, and use of data about their people and lands.
This practical and interactive workshop offers actionable strategies to address these challenges. Participants will learn how to collate, store and report data to assess program effectiveness, drive continuous improvement and meet funding requirements. The session also explores embedding identity and cultural values in case management while reframing outcomes measurement to be client-centric and aligned with community priorities.

Co-designing is often difficult due to the power imbalances, limited resources and cultural differences that can hinder genuine collaboration. Building trust and meaningful partnerships with diverse stakeholders requires time and sustained commitment, often constrained by competing priorities and funding.
Delegates of this interactive workshop will gain the tools and knowledge to begin the journey towards their own co-designed frameworks. Participants will learn how to meaningfully engage with communities, empower lived experiences and establish collaborative processes that lead to sustainable and inclusive mental health solutions.
